*Sigh* The picture on this is a bit shitty and for that I apologize. Outside of having a professional with the proper equipment to take the photo or having someone tie me up and suspend me from the garage rafters, which does sound fun. I settled for the crap quality picture in hopes you all would dig it anyway. So on with my shpeal...

This is a 48 inch round as you can clearly see, concrete, yes folks I said concrete, table top that my husband and I made, and I stained and gilded it.

products used:
48 inch round sonotube cut 2 inches thick for the form.
50 pounds of gravel.
2 sacks of quick dry cement/grout.
compass concrete stamp.
Proline ez-tique stains.
Proline sealer.
and various tools of the trade.

So in conclusion, I flip back and forth how I want to mount this onto a base. On one hand I want a very classy wrought iron base made, on the other hand, I think an old wine barrel would completely finish the table and would give the more authentic look. PIRATES FTW!

wine barrel. definitely. think about it: wrought iron would be the hoity toities in the upper decks, a wine barrel is what the mates below arm wrestle on.

Word. That was my thought too. Totally will finish the table. I love it. You should come have wine with me after it's complete.
